PACE Applauds The Yemeni Initiatives To Foster A Palestinian - Palestinian Dialogue PDF Print E-mail

PACE Malaysia commends the two major Palestinian factions, Hamas and Fatah for their readiness to resume efforts towards reconciliation. PACE learned that such developments could have materialized in a talk supposedly to be hosted by Yemen by this week, if not for the pre-conditions

imposed by Mahmoud Abbas i.e. insisting the elected government of Hamas to relinquish control of Gaza. Hamas on the other hand expresses the willingness to revive the National Unity Government which collapsed after the Hamas 'take over' of Gaza from roaming gunmen, without any pre-conditions.

PACE have a strong conviction that the Palestinian people must stand united to face Israeli aggression and end the murderous blockade on Gaza. There has to be some form of a workable agreements by all Palestinian resistance groups in this painful trying moments. The last thing that the Palestinian people can afford is disunity and discord in the face of unspeakable hardship faced by 1.5 million people in besieged Gaza. The dire situation calls on Hamas and Fatah to resume talks without further delay before situation in Gaza turns more deplorable.

It is also learned that the Arab Summit will take place in Damascus, Syria beginning Saturday, 29th March. PACE would like to back calls by Khaled Meshaal, a Hamas leader in Syria, urging Arab leaders to shoulder their brotherly responsibility to foster a Palestinian-Palestinian dialogue. For PACE It is no longer a matter of choice but a move that all Palestinians must support to end the untold misery in Gaza.
